D116: TIDEFORD to TORPOINT

Today miles: 11.2 Total miles: 1954.4
A short walking day meant that I could sleep a little later than I’d normally expect. People often say there’s no such thing as a bad walk but today really pushed the limits of that particular saying. It was around 11am when I finally arrived back at Tideford and I set off along a series of minor road towards St Germans. It was a blue sky day and unlike yesterday there was only very light traffic on the roads. From St Germans it was a steep mile down towards Polbathic and then a three hour slog onwards to Torpoint.

The eight mile road walk along the A374 was uninspiring and I was relieved to finally reach the Torpoint ferry crossing. I’d only been walking for a few hours and found very little to mention here. I boarded the ferry thirty minutes later and arrived back at Plymouth backpackers in the early afternoon. It’s my last night at the hostel and after taking care of some basic chores I spent the night watching TV and chatting with the residents and other visitors.
